No miracle by the Saints this season
Throught the college basketball season, local people have had the pride of supporting our own hometwon Siena Saints over at Siena College. But this season they can't seem to get it together. The team this year is relying too heavily on Freshmen, who seem to be unexperienced. Most of the older students are busy, with a full schedule of tough classes that have studying, so they can't practice. They've been having a rather sad season with a record of 4-7, with 3 of those wins at home. The players are beating themselves up about it. The intensity level and commitment level just isn't there anymore. But what can they do? Fall behind in classes to play on a team where most of them won't see the pro level? Students put too much stress into making sure sports is close to their number one priority. As a result, grades suffer and they hurt themselves even more. The atheletes need to remember that they are students first, and once they realize that, only then will they be able to be successful.

Pain in the ass
A student at Rice University around the time of Halloween ended up in the hospital for breaking a window with nothing but his ass. Eddy was participating in the school tradition of running around with nothing on but shaving cream on their privates, leaving butt and boob prints around the campus windows. Eddy wanted to get his ass print on a window that was elevated off the ground at the Fondren Library but instead of leaving a print, he broke the window. This isn’t the first time this occurred. Eddy is now faced with a $15,000 fine for his bared ass recklessness. Eddy is now trying to raise money to pay for it. That has got to be a pain in the ass.

An exit for more of Shen's funds
On Friday, a brand new exit sign was hung in front of the High School East main entrance lobby. But this isn't an average sign. This one has rounded edges! The 5 other exit signs within 5 feet of it are rectangular! Great move Shen!
If this was paid for by a grant of some kind, that's just pathetic. Exit sign grants? "Wow Shen! Now I can find the giant doors even more easily now! Thanks!" If this is what the state says counts for grant money, then they seriously need to reconsider what's important for public schools. How about a new computer grant or a re-painting grant? If it was just out the district's pocket, then all I can say is wow....

Soccer balls and tennis balls are apparently more dangerous than sharp metal darts, who knew?!?
After an incident where a parent was hit by a soccer ball and suffered a concussion, the principal at Earl Beatty Public School in Toronto has temporarily banned all “hard” balls from the school playground. Lawn darts and other sporting activities including the javelin throw were not outlawed. Yeah it is so better for kids to be throwing sharp metal darts around but it is completely unsafe to have a soccer ball be kicked around, what the heck are these people on? The principal explained that the play area is just too small for those type of activites, thus playing with "hard" balls is outlawed for that school.
Oh no, PDA in Orange River elementary school!

A simple kiss between two 12 year olds at Orange River elementary school is under investigation by authorities. Deputies say that they were called to the elementary school after a 12 year old girl kissed a classmate in her physical education class. The school reported the incident as a possible sex crime, and they called in the Department of Children and Families. The investigators say that the girl could be charged with battery if the boy did not approve of the kiss.

What? Is Shen still using dial-up?
Shenendehowa central school has had a history of extremely slow internet connection. If a room of 25 people are using internet connection then the computers load at 1.09 mbps(megabites per second). A typical computer should run at a speed of 10 mbps. Around different times of the day the computers can be in an overload of so many people using the internet and especially when the Elementary schools start logging on. This ia major inconvienience for high school students, especially when work needs to be done. What Shen needs is to be more concious of what they spend their budget on with regards to the internet necessites for high school students. We have computers that are almost 10 years old and it seems that Shen is falling behind the times with extremely old computers to our standards. Even in the course of typing this the internet speed has fluctuated. Get it together Shen!
